Challenging Injustice

We are challenging the causes of poverty in the North East

Communities Together Durham doesn’t just respond to the impact of poverty. We also work to challenge the systems that create the situations we encounter on a daily basis.

It’s why we are a member of Tyne and Wear Citizens – a broad-based alliance of institutions that work together for social justice and the common good. Durham Diocese was a founding partner of this organisation and we now work alongside schools, charities and universities to tackle poverty in the region.

As part of Tyne and Wear Citizens we are focusing on the Real Living Wage and Just Change, a national campaign to make sure children receiving free school meals get all they are entitled to.
