Loneliness

How you're helping to reduce loneliness... already...

We think churches are ideally placed to tackle loneliness and isolation because of their community and group work.

Churches are great places for people to get together and have conversations. And church halls and community centres are places where people can gather to do activities like reading, watching movies, and crafts – or just to enjoy each other’s company. So every coffee morning, toddler group or lunch group is making a positive impact.

We understand just how important it is to be able to make friends and meet friends; and 'Places of Welcome' is a way in which Communities Together Durham can help churches to build and develop more conversations in their communities. It also a way for them to connect with others across the diocese which are doing similar work to share ideas and experiences
